The Project Manager at Quest Diagnostics is responsible for planning leading, organizing and motivating project teams for small to medium size projects to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering these projects. The selected candidate will be responsible for working to support the Project Management Team and technical staff with all aspects associated with executing full project Life-cycles. This role reports into the Sr. Director Project & Program Portfolio Management.   

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Project Planning and Management –Manages all aspects of small to medium size Project Execution Plans which includes but not limited to schedules, organize and lead project status updates and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; collect, communicate, record, track and verify data and information from multiple sources. Uses software within Project Portfolio Management area to compile and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, correspondence and presentations. Coordinates and works closely with Master Schedulers to monitor scheduling and technical performance to deliver on projects. Supports adherence of Master Plans and Schedules, informing leaders of project status and any risks or issues.
• Project Team Support – Working closely to support and partner with Architects, Developers, IT Operations, Database Architects and Schedulers to plan and deliver on project enhancements and or services.  Driving and managing Project Execution plans with direct oversight provided by Project Manager.
• Client Partner Support – Support the Client Partner in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance
• Process Management and Improvement – Working closely with Project Managers to drive and manage a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Project Management.
• Project Analytics – Financial acumen and capability to plan and oversee project budgets. Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands. 
• Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to project teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues
• Strong leadership, interpersonal communications, investigative, negotiation, collaboration, and virtual management skills. Comfortable leading project teams across multiple locations and time zones.

Cross functional Indirect Reports

Qualifications:
Education Preferred: • BA/BS in Life Sciences, IT or equivalent is required.
• PMP (Project Management Professional)  certification requiredWork Experience: • 3+ years of working in a Project Analyst/Coordinator role managing Small to medium size complex projects; 1 year experience working within a PMO environment and/or supporting multiple projects and Projects Managers is desired.
• Experience overseeing multi-function project teams with at least 5-10 team members including Developers, Business Analysts, and QA personnel.  Product knowledge of Genetics LIMS preferred. 
• PM tools such as Clarity, JIRA/Greenhopper, Rally,VersionOne, or equivalent. MS Project, Visio, and all office Tools.Physical and Mental Requirements:  • Self-motivated and action-oriented 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong team player with proven ability to lead through influence
• Strong customer service skills. 
• High degree of initiative, accountability, accuracy, problem solving ability and follow-up skills
