Responsibilities
Job Summary / PurposeWorks co-operatively within the department and with other hospital personnel, patients, and visitors.Provides Maintenance support to maintain the facility and properties in a safe and comfortable environment for staff, patients and visitors.Essential Key Job Responsibilities·         Contributing to patient comfort. Maintains clean/safe floors. Provides bathroom product dispensers with material necessary to maintain personal hygiene.Marginal functions·         Change drapes and cubical curtains as needed.·         Operate floor scrubber and burnisher·         Strip and wax floors.General Duties/Responsibilities·         Responsible for the general cleaning of the facility.·         Dust mop and wet mop floors.·         Clean sinks, toilets, tubs, showers and mirrors.·         Clean phones, doorknobs.·         Dust and/or wash walls fixtures and equipment.·         Maintain a supply of soap, towels and tissue in rooms.·         Empty trash and discard in proper manner.·         Clean equipment.Change curtains.·         Vacuum carpets, clean carpets.·         Wash windows.·         Restock housekeeping cart/·         Water flowers.·         Keep reading material neat and up to date.·         Knows and responds to all sections of the Emergency Action manual.·         Assist emergency personnel with control of people in emergency situations.·         Knows and supports all safety polices of the hospital.·         Serves on committees as requested.·         Perform other duties as directed/required.Click here to enter 5 to 8 Key Responsibilities. Performs inspections, repairs and maintains equipment to operate in an efficient and safe environment.·         Performs plumbing, carpentry, painting, and building repairs to promote an efficient and safe environment.·         Performs repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance on all HVAC systems at or on hospital property.·         Performs removal of Snow and Ice at MercyOne Centerville Medical Center and properties using appropriate equipment to include driving of Mercy owned vehicles.·         General maintenance, inspections, and repair of equipment at MercyOne Centerville Medical Center and Properties.·         Controls traffic in emergency situations and perform security functions at the MercyOne Centerville Medical Center and properties.·         Attend required in-service and other meetings as required. Participates on committees as required.·         Maintain and perform necessary repairs on electrical equipment.·         Inspect equipment in mechanical room on a daily basis.·         Perform necessary repairs on laundry equipment.Responsible for building repairs.Perform carpentry work as needed.Responsible for plumbing repairs.Maintains hospital vehicles and does necessary repairs.Responsible for keeping grounds equipment in working condition.Responsible for painting as needed.May do some mowing and other yard work.Controls traffic in emergency situations.Knows and responds to all sections of the safety policies.Is knowledgeable and supports all safety policies of the hospital.Attends regularly scheduled in-service education programs.Serves on committees as requested.Other duties assigned by management
