Position description
Responsible for the operations of assigned work areas with the goal of providing high quality, efficient and cost effective service to the organization with an emphasis on customer service. Plans, manages, coordinates and evaluates the operational functions within assigned work units. Provides analysis of work processes and financials data which lead to implementation of improved outcomes, products and service within assigned work unit. Ensures adequate equipment, linen and resources are available for work units to provide products and services as needed. Provides leadership based on the vision, mission, philosophy and core values of the Department of LCS and Mayo Clinic. Applies current healthcare and business management theories in managing the support operation. Assists the Director in the development of and responsible for management of policies, procedures, quality assurance, education, process improvement and assigned finances in compliance with standards outlined by Mayo Clinic and regulatory agencies (Joint Commission, OSHA, ERTKA, FDA, ADA, etc).

Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. Five years of experience in a leadership role. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Prior experience in Sterile Processing preferred.
Ability to apply the principles of fiscal management to work unit operations. This includes the ability to work with a variety of data. This includes the ability to collect, compare, sort and organize information from several sources and communicate to others in a meaningful manner. Strong analytical, as well as interpersonal communication skills are necessary. Excellent organizational and written and oral communication skills are required. Previous supervisory experience or an individual with demonstrated leadership ability is required. Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel) in word processing, spreadsheet, and computer data entry skills are necessary. Knowledge of reprocessing principles, quality assurance, inventory control, and continuous performance improvement concepts is preferred. Must be able to read, write, and understand English.

License or certification
Maintenance of certification CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CLLM (Certified Laundry and Linen Manager) required. Dependent upon the assignment. Or if transferring into the role in LCS must be attained within 18 months.
