Position description
A Special Project Associate at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to execute experimental studies in support of lab goals and grant commitments as designated by the Principal Investigator. Performs basic statistical data analysis; prepares tables, charts/graphs and assists in organizing data; completes assorted laboratory procedures and assays. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
Job responsibilities will include organizing and maintenance of many cell lines (HUMAN, RODENT, iPSCs, etc), transduction of cell lines and transplantation of cells into RODENT brain MODELS intracranially, perform other animal procedures, support on-going projects by quantification of proteins and DNA using molecular techniques to characterize new cell lines (OBTAINED DIRECTLY FROM OUR PATIENTS IN THE OPERATING ROOM), and organization and maintenance of database (INCLUDING PATIENT DATA), tissue inventory, and lab supplies/equipment, process glioblastoma patient-derived tissues (DIRECTLY FROM THE OPERATING ROOM). These duties consist of, but are not limited to, animal inspection, including health status, records update; visual and/or physical inspection monitoring for onset of motor and other phenotypes on a daily basis, cage card, lab notebook, and spreadsheets maintenance of molecular and neuropathological analysis of data performed to assess characterization of cell lines and data preparation and preliminary analysis.

Qualifications
Bachelor degree required and experience required in lab project or research work in an educational or work setting. Candidate must have a solid understanding of lab techniques, equipment, and safety.
