Position description
Performs various services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comforts of clients in their place of residence under the direction of an RN. #ELJ

Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED.

Successful completion of a state approved licensure program for Home Health Aide or Nursing Assistant Training Program or a student enrolled in an approved health/social science program who has completed a Nursing Assistant Training Program.

If a Home Health Aide, Hospice Aide, or equivalent has not provided services for compensation for a consecutive 24-month period, the individual is considered to not have completed a training or competence program and must complete a program before providing services. Applicant must provide verification of satisfactory completion of program.

Additional qualifications
Current listing on the Nursing Assistant Registry with the Minnesota Department of Health preferred.

Certified Hospice and Palliative Nursing Assistant (CHPNA) preferred but not required.

Experience with end-of-life and/or the geriatric population preferred.

License or certification
Must provide personal mode of transportation to patient’s home.
Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required.

Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross. If a candidate does not currently have their Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers, certification will be included as part of the orientation program.
