Salary Range: $72.84 /hour – $85.67/ hour

Responsible for management of pharmacy infusion, oncology clinical, clinic medications, and Supply chain management programs for Kaiser Permanente Colorado region. Provide leadership to ensure caring, comprehensive, efficient, economical and consistently high- quality programs and services in the acute care, oncology, and sterile compound pharmacy setting.

Essential Responsibilities:

Directs, coaches, and mentors personnel/direct reports in management techniques and skills; oversees workflow processes and coordinates activities of supervisory personnel, pharmacists and support personnel to meet performance objectives.
Develops and communicates service, performance and quality assurance expectations and sets goals with direct reports/staff that are consistent with department and regional goals and objectives; provides feedback and follow up.
Oversees clinical pharmacy specialists, clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the execution of technical functions and addresses staffing needs of Clinical Pharmacy Services, Infusion Services, and Supply chain mgmt.
Supports utilization management initiatives as assigned.
Serve as the authoritative resource on supply chain management and maintain a robust financial oversight program over pharmaceutical costs.
Interviews, selects, orients, instructs, counsels, evaluates, and disciplines infusion pharmacy supervisory and other pharmacy personnel; reviews and approves performance evaluations, disciplinary actions and other issues.
Monitors and evaluates existing service levels, systems, procedures and practices and recommends appropriate changes or additions as required.
Coordinates and manages the budgetary needs.
Serves as a liaison and resource for development and implementation of departmental, interdepartmental, interdisciplinary and community initiatives; collaborates with facility medical and administrative personnel on regional initiatives relative to the delivery of infusion services.
Assures compliance to all regulatory rules and regulations and Kaiser Permanentes policies and procedures and professional practice standards which include but are not limited to: Drug Enforcement Administration. State Boards of Pharmacy. HIPAA. Principles of Responsibility. Proper use of Kaiser Permanente personal computers and applications.
Supports development and implements policies and procedures relating to acute care and infusion pharmacy operations and professional practice standards; provides support in the development and assures implementation of departmental initiatives consistent with program goals and objectives.
Promotes loyalty and morale by creating a climate that encourages professional development, individual creativity, innovation and a high level of productivity.
Directs and assists infusion pharmacy supervisory personnel in planning, developing, implementing, coordinating and supervising services and functions provided by each pharmacy in area of responsibility including legal and regulatory requirements.
Interacts collaboratively with the Service Area Leadership and Oncology specialties to ensure that pharmacy operations and services meet the expectations of the business owners; serves on area councils as appropriate.
Evaluates and determines facility infusion pharmacy spatial and design requirements for provision of optimum service. Assists location infusion pharmacy supervisory personnel in renovation projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

 

Experience

Minimum five (5) years of personnel management/supervisory experience required.
Minimum four (4) years of pharmacist experience required.

 

Education

Bachelors degree in pharmacy or Pharm D required.

 

License, Certification, Registration

Pharmacist License (Colorado)

 

Additional Requirements:

Experience in formulary, compliance, inventory management and cash control procedures required.
Knowledge of federal and state laws as they pertain to pharmacy required.
Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.
Knowledge and experience in Home Infusion, Oncology and Allergy admixture services required.
Knowledge of federal and state laws as they pertain to pharmacy required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum three (3) years of experience at Kaiser Permanente preferred.
Advanced degree in business or health care administration preferred.
